New Sneakers: Nike Jordan 1 Retro High

I guess I have officially betrayed Yeezy

These are my second pair of Nikes so far in 2020. I have been such a huge supporter of Adidas and their work with Yeezy in recent years I never really paid attention to what its biggest competitor was putting out, but as of lately its become harder and harder to ignore Nike. The white Air Force 1’s have taken the world by storm, I mean I’m seeing everybody, from celebrities to tiktokers sporting a pair. Me being the trend follower I am, it wasn’t long until I purchased my very own, and they quickly became my daily sneaker of choice. Everything was fine and dandy until Dior stepped in and created their own version of the apparently-extremely-coveted Jordan 1 (I say apparently because I truly didn’t know Nike and that specific shoe had such a huge cult-following, now I know it all goes back to Michael Jordan). Of course the Dior version is nearly impossible to get, or afford for that matter, at a resell value of 25k, yes, TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND dollars. But anyways, that whole thing put a fire under me and I felt like I needed to get a pair of Jordan 1’s, the thing is, every single color-way I was into happened to be dead-stock, so now I was at the mercy of resellers and whatever ridiculous price they wanted to charge. When buying dead-stock sneakers there’s only one place I’m familiar with & really trust with the authentication part, stockX. I have shopped with them before and the process is pretty smooth, you pay a reseller from any part of the world, they have to then send the item to stockX and only IF the item is authentic will it be sent to the buyer. Bottom line, I ended up paying a bit over $700 for a pair of Nike shoes, so if you ever see me out in public you have my permission to slap me across the face.
